A busy coastal town just South of Malaga Airport, Torremolinos is a great place to visit most notably for its clean sandy beaches, wide choice of hotels and restaurants and vivacious nightlife. In the early sixties Torremolino was a small village and was the first resort on the Costa del Sol to be developed with grand hotels, apartment blocks, bars and restaurants. To the left, the Playa de Bajondillo gives way to the beaches of Playamar and Los Alamos. To the right, beyond the Castillo de Santa Clara, lie the beach areas of La Carihuela and Montemar.
